This page is maintained by the ReadySetChore team to explain what information we collect, how we use it, and the controls families have. It is written in plain English and is not a substitute for legal advice.
1. Who we are
ReadySetChore is a family chore-accountability app used by parents and their teens. When this policy says “we,” it means the ReadySetChore team.
2. Information we collect
- Account details you provide: name, email, password, and family role.
- Family data: family name, invite codes, members, and role assignments.
- Chore data: titles, descriptions, schedules, statuses, points, and reviews.
- Before/after photos your family uploads as proof of completed chores.
- Basic usage and device data (timestamps, browser type) for security and diagnostics.
3. How we use information
- Operate the app: assignments, approvals, points, streaks, and notifications.
- Keep accounts secure and detect abuse.
- Improve reliability and features based on aggregated usage.
- Respond to support requests you send us.
4. Photos and children's data
Chore photos are stored in a private bucket and are only accessible to members of the family that uploaded them. Parents are responsible for supervising their teen’s use of the app and for the content of any photos uploaded.
5. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us run the app (hosting, database, auth, AI features), under contract, and only as needed to provide the service. We may disclose information if required by law.
6. Data retention
We keep account and family data while the account is active. You can delete chore history from the Points page, delete individual chores and photos in the app, or contact us to delete your account.
7. Your controls
- Update your name and settings from the app.
- Parents can reset points and clear history from the Points page.
- Delete photos individually from the Chores page.
- Email us to request account or family deletion.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures including row-level security, encrypted connections, and private storage buckets. No system is perfectly secure; report suspected issues to support@readysetchore.app.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
